Updated January 22, 2012 Helping find Missing Parsis and ZoroastriansPlease bookmark this site, visit it often, and tell other Parsis and Zoroastrians about it. Thank you. ![]() By making The Missing Parsi your facebook friend, you will automatically be notified when there is an update on The Missing Parsi. My name is Ader Gandi and I live in San Francisco, California, USA. My email address is AderGandi@gmail.com. I, along with Yazdi Tantra in Bombay, started TheMissingParsi.com on October 1st. 2005. Our idea behind the TheMissingParsi.com is simple: use the power of the Internet to help fellow Parsis and Zoroastrians connect with people they have lost touch with. This idea came to me as a result of the many requests from fellow Parsis all over the world who would ask if I knew of someone they used to know, who they had since lost touch with, and could I help them find the person. I would get these requests because I am the founder of www.TheParsiChronicle.com which is visited by 300 people daily. You can write me an email at AderGandi@gmail.com providing me with the details of the missing Parsi in your life. The more detail you provide, the more chances of finding the person: their approximate age, how and where you knew them from, their married and maiden names, when and where you had last contact with them, joint friends you knew, etc. PLEASE ADD "MISSING PARSI" IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF THE EMAIL, OTHERWISE YOUR EMAIL MAY NEVER REACH ME. I will post your email on this web site, and on our Facebook Page, TheMissingParsi. You can become our Facebook friend by clicking on http://www.facebook.com/people/Missing-Parsi/100002437887842 Both the web site and the Facebook page is now being read by thousands of Parsi Zoroastrians world wide. Hopefully one of them will know the whereabouts of your missing Parsi and will respond directly to you and to me. To avoid any possible abuse of your email, you may ask me not to list your email or have me subsequently remove your email. However this will possibly reduce the number of successful responses you will get from people having knowledge about your case. CASES ONCE POSTED TO THE WEB SITE, AND FACEBOOK, WILL NOT BE REMOVED. I (Ader Gandi) reserve the right to not post certain requests on www.TheMissingParsi.com Here is an article that appeared in the magazine Time Out Mumbai, Valentines Day, 2010, about the www.TheMissingParsi.comThe link for the article is http://www.timeoutmumbai.net/mumbailocal/mumbailocal_details.asp?code=221&source=1
Over 125 such success stories find place
on Ader Gandis webpage. However, when friends first heard the name of his
site in 2005, they laughed, comparing it with The Last of the
Mohicans. Gandi, however, believed the name was catchy and would
serve its purpose of helping people reconnect.
These missing Parsis have been found because we are a very tight-knit community. Besides, it helps that many Parsis have unique names,?said Gandi, who lives in San Francisco. He screens every request and acts as a go-between for applicants and respondants on the website. The page has generated considerable interest within the community and sees spurts in online traffic following national and international Parsi conventions, at which awareness spreads through word of mouth. Gandi has been frequenting Mumbai, the largest home for Parsis across the world, since 2003. Thats the year he set up TheParsiChronicle.com, which featured community news clippings from across the world. Those who read the Chronicle assumed I knew everything about the community, from the value of a Parsi artefact to the whereabouts of a friend they lost touch with,?said Gandi. It was a simple solution: to use the internet to help people reconnect. Not all of his efforts have been well received. A few people have taken offence. They didnt want to be branded missing and objected to being listed on the page,?he said. Here is an article that appeared in the Hindustan Times about TheMissingParsi.

Parsi" site. When I was in St. Joseph's Convent, Bangalore in the early
sixties, one of the boarders there was a boy from Bombay whose last name
was Jambox. His parents seemed to be wealthy. Jambox was pretty wild and I
think had been sent to Bangalore to cool his heels. I'm afraid I don't
know his first name. It's highly unlikely he will remember me but I'd like
to give him a holler none the less. Happy trails, Lester Saldanha

My father Farokh Sanjana is 78 years of age and is ailing at the moment. He had his family(siblings) in Mumbai but since he married out of the community in the 1960s', lost all touch with them. I write this mail with the the hope of connecting with some one from his family whom I never ever got to know or meet since I was born. I am 38 years of age and a doctor living and practising in Chennai-Southern India. His parents were Mr.Tehmurasp Sanjana and Mrs. Tehmina Sanjana and his siblings Pesotan Sanjana, Parveez Palia, Daulet Sanjana, Gev Sanjana. This is all the information I possess at the moment. If I may add all the above mentioned folks are no more from what we heard last but were living in Mumbai. But if there were a friend or an accquaintaince willing to get in touch with my father , it would make him a happier man. I would like to know my family from my fathers side as well. Not sure this is a platform for family unions, just thought I 'd give it a shot. Last I had met him was about 1954 in Bombay. He lived on Laburnum Road near Gowalia Talao with his mum and 3 brothers. I think he got his Matriculation from St Xavier's School. He is about 78 years old now. His oldest brother Dinshaw was a flight engineer with TATA. Feroze got an "A" license for flying at JUHU airport about 1952 and wanted to be a pilot, but could not get a job in India, so he left India and went to England for training in Agriculture. I have lost contact with him with him. You have found my 2 other lost Parsi friends in the last 10 years. I hope you can locate Feroze Dallas. I would request two postings, please: I am trying to locate a dear friend, who also worked as my admin assistant in Pune from 1983-1985. Her name is Manijeh. She was previously in Iran. She lived near Synagogue Street in Pune with her mother. She later got married and went to live in Gujrat. She is a lovely person and we were really good friends. I would be most grateful if I could be reconnected with her. I know she would appreciate being reconnected as well. Please write to zareen33@gmail.com Thank you very much. Zareen Karani Araoz. This is a strange request. I was very fond of my parents, Alu Karani and General Noshir Karani, who are no longer alive. We grew up listening to their interesting stories of their childhood, courting and married life in Mumbai and London, before we were born, and all the good friends they had and enjoyed. We met many, many of their childhood friends, when we were growing up in Pune. But that generation seems to be passing and dying out.I have such warm memories, specially of my mother, that I would be most grateful to connect with anyone who knew her before I was born, and perhaps when she lived in Mumbai or London. Her maiden name was Chothia and they lived on Babulnath Road and Laburnum Road. She studied at Queen Marys and later taught Physical Education, at a very young age, at JB Petit, Queen Marys, Cathedral, Princess and many other schools. During my life I met many of her pupils and heard wonderful stories, but did not register them much. Today, I would LOVE to hear from any of my mothers pupils who may still be alive. She was Alu Chothia when she taught (1934-1936). Could some of you kindly ask elder women in your families (since they would not be using the internet), if they remember her at all? My mother was an amazing woman, and I may even write about her life one day. I would welcome any memories that people may have of her younger days (or even older). Anyone from London (1936-1939) who remembers her would be amazing and so heart-warming. They went regularly to the Z. House (Dr. Noshir and Alu Karani). Please write to me at zareen33@gmail.com. Thank you for the effort I know this will take, and appreciation to Ader and Yazdi. Zareen Karani Araoz. Thanks again, Ader. Regards, Zareen. contact. He visited again after that until Air India stopped that
line. The latest home address I have is Piroja Mansion, Sir Ratan Tata

Dear Sir, I am unsure as to whether you are able to assist
with my enquiry, but would greatly appreciate if you are able to point me
in the right direction... I am writing with regards to Gool
Ristomji Lala and Jal Rustomji Lala. Just a bit of background. I
am the wife of James Simon Pool who currently lives in Australia, James
was born to Sohrabji Rustumji Lala and Ravinia Lala on the 30th of June
1964 and at birth was named Jamshed Sohrabji Lala. Sohrabji was the
brother of Gool and Jal Lala, unfortunately Sohrabji passed away on the
1st of May 1975. His death certificate states his religion as Zoroastrian.
His wife then return to the Seychelles and later emigrated to Australia
losing contact with Sohrabjis family. James and I are now trying to locate
family in India as we now have a family and would like them to know their
family in India. Is there anyone in India who you may be able to put
us in contact with in order to locate Gool Ristomji Lala or Jal Rustomji
Lala or their children? Any assistance or direction you could provide
would be greatly appreciated. As you can imagine it is extremely difficult
to locate someone whilst living on the other side of the world. Our

Sir, for a documentary movie we are looking for the
descendants of FRAMROZE (Fram) JAMSHED DAVAR of Bombay.
Fram Davar, born around 1900 was a Bombay Scout Master and a journalist.
In 1921, he left Mumbai to tour the world on his bycicle. (several other
members of the Bomby Weoght lifting Club where he was a meber did the
same. However, no other trip was as long as Fram's). In Vienna, Austria,
Fram Davar met a young Austrian who joined in on the tour. Together, they
cycled over 100 000 miles and crossed several continents. Fram worked as a
correspondent for several Indian newspapers to finance the trip. After
1931, Fram seems to have returned to India. He published several books on
the trip, one on crossing the Sahara, one on crosing the Andes and one on
the Amazon. From what we understand he lived well into the sixties. We
would be very interested in tracking Fram Davar's descendants or other
family members - he had at least one sister - or get in touch with anyone
who remembers this extraordinary gentleman. Any hint would be greatly
appreciated. If you have any information, please write to r.pleyer@dor-film.at Sincerely your's Ruth

September 5, 2011) Dear Ader Gandi, I was referred to your
website by a friend who has found success in locating some of his
long-lost family and friends. But they were all in India. My request is
for locating a family of first cousins located in Iran who's names I do
not even know, nor do I know how many of them were there to begin with in
the first place, nor do I know how many of them are surviving as of today.
All the information I have is of other members of the existing family
living outside of Iran, in Bombay, USA, UK and New Zealand. To begin with
I'm looking for the family of my Kaka, Mr. Ardeshir Khodadad Irani
(Bustani) who lived either in Kerman, Shiraz or Yazd. This is all
the information I have of my Kaka, and his family, and would greatly
appreciate if someone who reads what's given below to help him, and me, to
put the jigsaw puzzle together. Ardeshir Kaka had 2 other brothers and 2
sisters. Their names were Kaikhusrow (Keki), Rustom (my father), Daulat
and Goola - not necessarily in the order mentioned. In fact my father,
Rustom, was the youngest of the lot and Daulat the oldest. The age
difference between them was 30 yrs. Keki Kaka married Rati Iranpur (a
cousin) and beget Roshan, Phiroze, Cyrus, Arnavaz, Godafrid and Darius.
Keki kaka's surname was Bustani but my father's surname was Irani. Don't
know why the brother's chose different surnames. I believe Keki kaka and
Ardeshir kaka were born in Iran and my father was born in India. I do not
know when my grand-parents emmigrated to India and why Ardeshir kaka and
his children went back to Iran. Another sister also went back to Iran -
Goola, after her marriage.
Goola had 2 daughters and a son - Kayomarz, Ruby and Behnaz. Daulat had 1 daughter - Perin. Rustom, my father, had 3 daughters and a son (self) - Meherengiz, Shenaz, Rohinton (self) and Amestrice. It is very likely that Ardeshir kaka has passed on too as the last of the known original siblings (my father) passed on in Dec. 1993 in Mumbai. The families of the original (known) brothers and sisters have grown and migrated around the world. No point into going deeper into this until some leads are provided by anyone who read through this post on your website. Thank you very much for the time and effort you have already put in to get the missing persons reunited over the period of years. God bless You. Yours truly, Rohinton. Dear Ader, First of all I applaud you for the tremendous
satisfaction your site brings to so many re-united people. I have a
strange request. My parents (Alu and Noshir Karani) passed away many years
ago. Before I was born, they were in England for 3-4
years and lived in the building of a Dr. Motafram, who
had a foreign wife, and was a very kind person. He also had a practice in
Harley Street, that my father ran for a while. My parents
adored this couple and it seems they had a little girl, who my
mother was very fond of. She must now be over 70 and may have a married
name. They lived in Heighbury New Park in London. My parents had
many happy years there, and often talked of wishing they could connect
with Dr. Motaframs lovely daughter (there was no Missing Parsee then!). In
those days, Dr. Motafram went to the Z House in London,
and would have been known (and very respected, I understand) in his
generation. This was from 1936 to 1939, just before the war. Is there any
Parsee in London who still remembers Dr. Motafram? Or my parents?
My father was then Dr. Karani (later General Karani) and my mother
Alu Karani (nee Chothia). I would be delighted to connect with
anyone who knew them in their London days. You can reach me at zareen33@gmail.com Thank you for posting
this. Thank you again for your time, effort and commitment. Kind regards,

Dear Mr. Kotval, Wow! I cannot tell you how amazed and
grateful I was to hear from you. What an interesting background and
connections, and what a memory for dates and details!. I am fortunate that
you saw this, and that you took the time to write and share all that you
knew. I think it is the same person. Dr. Motafram was practicing in Harley
Street, married to an Englishwoman, who my parents said people in India
said was his maid. They always spoke of an adopted daughter, but that may
be a way of talking about this ladys own daughter (?). Also, a bomb fell
on their house during the war and it was destroyed. So there are too many
similarities for it not to be the same person. I also know they had a
piano. My son, Farokh, and I went and visited what we think was the spot
where the house (Dr. Motaframs) was in London in 2001. It was a very
nostalgic experience. We also found the Motaframs name in the registry in
the parish church next door.
How interesting that you lived next to his mother, Dinbai. Then, did you never meet Dr. Motafram again, except when you were 6? What did you hear about him? My parents lived in his home for 2 years and just loved him. He took very good care of them, and also let my father run his practice in Harley Street, when Dr. Motafram went away on a holiday. A great experience for my father, Noshir Karani (who was also a doctor and later became a General in the Indian Medical Corps). My parents always said he was a very generous man. My parents returned to India when my grandmother (fathers mother) died, and then war broke out. So they stayed on in India ----and sadly never returned. But they told us stories all the time of the wonderful days with the Motaframs. Dr. Motafram was also President of the Zoroastrian House, as was my uncle later, Dr. Soli Karani. I wonder if you knew either one of them? You say Dr. Motafram came to Mumbai in 1936, when you were 6. Do you have ANY recollection of him? And did he not come again in 1938? Because that is when my father ran his practice, and I thought that was when Dr. Motafram had gone to India. Memories and stories my parents told of their lives, and of times before I was born are really precious to me. I adored my parents and cherish any connection with their lives and their past. My mother was pregnant when they left London, and my brother was born in 1939. I was born in 1945, and we both heard London stories all our lives. It was like their 2-year honeymoon, and they loved every minute of it and worked and studied very hard, and felt very protected by Dr. Motafram. My mother liked the daughter. I wonder if you can recall what the daughters name might be, since it is possible, though not very likely, that she is still alive and MIGHT remember my parents. Do you know when Dr. Motafram died? I think it may have been before I was born My parents always talked of the E-plan= when we return to England one day. And my brother, Philly, and I would be fascinated in those days and often ask, Let us talk about our E-plan. But it never happened.it was just our family dream! I did call my parents to the US every year once I came here in 1978, and so they came to the US, but never returned to London. Your story and memories of Dinbai are very graphic and portray her as quite without humor---perhaps it was because her wonderful son went away to London and left her alone in Mumbai..who knows?! What do you do in Canada? Is there anything else you recall of Dr. Motafram or his family? My husband and I are Boston-based. Do you ever come this way? I am really grateful to you for taking the time to write and to share. How did you happen to find this particular request on Missing Parsi? I am fortunate. My best wishes and sincere thanks to you (and to Ader for his ingenious web-site), Zareen Dr. Zareen Karani Araoz Zareen33@gmail.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Zareen: I think that this is the same Dr. Manek Motafram of Harley Street, London. Dr. Motafram was about 50 years old when he came to Bombay around 1936, I was 6 years old then. Dr. Motafram's mother Dinbai Motafram was my neighbour in Peerbhoy Bldg, Forjett St, Gowalia Talao, Bombay. During the war Manek's house was bombed, Manek and others at home had hidden in the underground bomb shelter, his grand piano worth 5,000 was destroyed, I remember Dinbai telling the neighbours. Dinbai was born in 1853 and had visited son Manek 12 times but spoke no English. Dinbai died in 1947. Manek had an English housemaid named Janette who had a daughter. He later married Janette and adopted the daughter. Manek had a younger brother named Homi who was a bar-at law, graduated in Edinburgh. Homi was a successful lawyer in the UK, but he did not like winning cases for nefarious people. So he quit and came back to Bombay and lived with mother Dinbai. Homi became a compulsive gambler at Mahaluxmui horse race course, and lost a fortune, I do not know how he managed to continue. I left Peerbhoy Bldg in 1948. Dinbai was very involved in embroidery and other crafts. She used to make curtains from glass beads. Dinbai's husband who had died in the 1920s was very wealthy and there was a street named in his honour in Jubbolpore where he had some lucrative business. I emigrated from India in 1955. I had lived in London for a short time and in Glasgow, and have settled in British Columbia, Canada for the last 47 years. I have a vivid memory of Dinbai Motafram on 15 October 1934 as it was my 4th birthday and my mum had bought me a windup Japanese toy which would run on a string. I set up the string on the landing between 2 stair posts, Dinbai came out of her apartment and broke the string as it was in her way. My late old friend Sami Jasawala and I thought that Dinbai was grumpy. This does not fulfil your request, but I will be very pleased if you can see any connection in my anecdote. Dear Merle, I was also in St. Marys. But I have known Colleen and Dawn since my childhood, in Pune and in Delhi. Their father was Col. Bhiladwalla. I think you got the spelling of their last name wrong. Colleen Bhiladwalla and also Dawn were airhostesses in Air India. Colleen was the chief air-hostess and very well known and respected. I think anyone in Air India will be able to help you locate them. I will also try. If you do locate them, please tell Colleen that I (Zareen Karani or Dr. Lam as I was known when I was a consultant with Air India) would also love to be in touch with her. She was a lovely person and as children I was very fond of her. I also remember her mother, who passed away when she was very young. Were you by any chance Merle Fowler? I knew a Merle Fowler in Pune. Were you in St. Marys? I hope this helps. With kind regards, Zareen zareen@managingcultures.com SOLVED (September 9, 2011)

Just by sheer luck, today I stumbled on your website," The Missing
Parsi", and thought that this could be the answer to my prayers. I
propose to write a feature on Roshan Menon, a well known news
broadcaster of yester years, with All India Radio. She was a
news reader whom I have revered from my childhood days, and still
do, for the beautiful way she read the news. Unfortunately, neither
AIR or Doordarshan, has any details about her. The few news readers who
were her contemporaries and who are still alive feign poor memory,or the
willing ones are unfortunately not keeping good health. Just 55 years back
most Indians had the pleasure of listening to the English news, read with
impeccable style by this great lady. It has been two years since I
have been on her trail. I would be much obliged if you could put me on to
those who knew Roshan Menon personally. Or anybody who could
share with me some personal anecdotes about the life and times of Roshan
Menon? What was she like? Where was she originally from? Where can I
get pictures of her, as I have never seen even a single one?

(August 31, 2011) Dear Mr Gandi, Today I visited your website, "The Missing Parsi" and my joy knew no bounds when I saw the response from Mr. Dorab Gazder to your post regarding my enquiry for Roshan Menon. This was like a dream coming true. I have been on Roshan Menon's trail for more than two years. Nobody seems to know anything about her, not even, shamefully, All India Radio, where her formidable presence and her exquisite voice once ruled the Air waves. Together with Meliville de Mellow, they proved to be indomitable broadcasters that few could match. I have already written to Mr. Dorab Gazder, a copy of which, I am enclosing with this letter for your kind perusal. Mr. Gandi, I am deeply grateful to you for all the trouble you have taken and the valuable and generous help you have extended to me, in helping me with my project on Roshan Menon. Thank you so much. Mr. Gazder has suggested that I get in touch with Ms. Homai Vyrawalla, the ace lady photographer, who resides in Baroda. Unfortunately I don't have her e-mail ID or her phone number. Ader, My name is Tehmul Bhanja and I am trying to locate my school friends
from the 1940-50s, they are 3 brothers ?Hoshang R Karkaria, Marzban R
Karkaria and Firoz R Karkaria. We were all very close friends and
neighbors in the Dr. Mody (Parsi) Colony, Pune Camp. Hoshang and Marzban
were my classmates in St. Vincent School, Pune. Firoz would come to
our house daily as my sister (Perin Parakh nee Bhanja) was always
interested in guiding children ... and would teach Firoz knitting, Braille
etc. The family shifted to Belgaum in the early 50s &
since then I have lost contact with them. Hoshang will now be in his mid
70s while Firoze will be in his 80s. I was given to understand that
Hoshang was working with one of the Tata concerns in Mumbai & was
staying in Dadar, Mumbai. I have since made inquiries with several persons
without success. I am especially interested about Firoz to ascertain
how is doing & whether I could be of any help to him. I only recently
learnt about this wonderful service you have been providing us through
your website, and shall be most grateful to any person who can help me in
contacting my three childhood friends Hoshang, Marzban or Firoz. Warm

I came across your website and now I will take the chance. I am looking very much for my father Hoshedar Patel. Actually I don't know very much about him and his family, .... Since we saw him the last time in Bombay in 1987, we (my mother, my sister and I) lost all trace of him. My father Hoshedar Patel was born in 1951 in Bahrain and later as a child lived in Bombay-Parrel- I think in a Parsi Colony. His Father was a engineer and had worked in Bahrain. He was blind in old age. His mother was a teacher. Hoshedar Patel had one sister- she got married to a man from Kerala. One of his Uncles was a Officer at Bombay Airport. As far as I know he and his sister went to a boarding school and later he studied chemistry. Hoshedars family also owned a flat in a Parsi-colony in Poona- very close to the Koregoan park. In young ages he also lived there some time. In 1977 he got married to my mother and moved to germany until 1986. After they got separate he went back to in India. Once again we met him in Bombay in 1987 at our leaving day back to Germay. After that we lost all trace of him. If anyone knows about Hoshedar Patel, his sister or any relatives and could help me with some contact information please contact me Pritam. I really wish from my heart to get trace about him or just to know what has happened to him. Thank you very much for this opportunity. He said he was a Parsi and wrote in parsee language ostensibily but his name was not parsee , perhaps he had anglicised it. It was Karl Vegas. He said his father was a banker in Calcutta, not a stronghold of the Parsi community I know. His father was killed in riots in Calcutta apparently. I would so appreciate any suggestions you have for tracing him. (Posted March 5, 2011) Dear Mr.Gandi, I was surfing
the web tonight, just like many other nights & i guess the sudden urge
to eat something coupled with the sight of amul butter suddenly compelled
me to google "Polson Butter".I'm just 23 ,i've never eaten Polson butter
before but i've heard a few stories about how Mr. Dalal (Polson Butter
founder) had to shut shop with the emergence of the AMUL movement. Theres
not much i can find about Mr. Pestonji Edulji Dalal on the internet except
only as references at places.I have heard this butter seemed to have a
more golden colour & tasted better than the butter you get
nowadays.I'm wondering as to how i could contact this family if they're
still continuing to reside in India or anywhere else for that matter, but i
cant seem to find any information regarding their contact number or an
email ID.I was hoping , if you might have any means to find this out.I
just feel like
communicating with them ,asking them why they never started producing that butter again, the reasons basically. Maybe that product still has a lot of potential. Factory at Mazgaon [ Dock Yard Road ] was Pesi Mama to us . He was my
dad's Mama and his wife was Dhun mami . They stayed near oval maidan - a
little behind eros cinema . You are very correct that in the 60's when
Polson butter was regularly going out of stock ,,, all Bec. of Govt.
hassels , people would rather do without butter but refrain from buying
Amul . In them days no one would use the word butter ,,, they would only
say POLSON . The factory was later sold to one Mr. Kapadia -- Actress
Dimple Kapadia's Kaka . He could not manage to run it and he closed down
and sold off to ... - Haji Mastan . He raised the Factory to the ground
and built a residential tower. Today, there exists a Polson Children Trust

(November 12, 2011) I read your explanation of the Polsons on
Missing Parsee. I wanted to ask you if you knew the family well. My uncle,
Dara Karani, worked for 20 or more years at Polsons store near VT. I
remember collecting Polsons coupons from the butter and getting gifts in
return. It was really tasty and salty butter. But my parents also knew the
owners very well. He had married Polsons daughter and I know his name was
Jal (Kothawala? maybe). A very, very, kind couple with no children and a
dog named Bella. I wonder if you know any family member who might remember
them or my parents. My father was General Noshir Karani. Jal and his wife
and dog used to come and stay with us in Pune every year. Do let me know
if an y of this rings a bell. Thank you for your time. Kind regards,

He also had a sister called Bami Jokhi & brother Kersi (not sure) Jokhi. They lived at Mazgaon, Godiwala Widow Chawl with their mother. Eventually Dinshaw married Jeroo a school friend of Bami Jokhi. The children were perhaps in an (Petite, Pune) Orphange and used to visit their mom during vacations. Dear Mr. Gandi, First of all thank you for
establishing and maintaining this site. My name is Dr. Cyrus B. Toorkey
and I I am looking for a dear, friend from Bombay (Mumbai), India.
I used to know her in Bhavans College, Andheri (W) between the years of
1968-1972. She did her B.Sc. with Chemistry ?Major and Microbiology ?
Minor (I am quite sure). Subsequently she went on to become a homeopath
from the Patel Homeopathic Medical College, Irla, Vile Parle. She
married one, Yezdi Wadia and subsequently became known as Dr.
Farida Wadia. I think, Mr. Wadia worked at Mazgaon Docks
and they lived at Mazgoan Dock Officers quarters in Ghatkopar
with their children (two of them I think). Unfortunately, I have lost
touch with Dr. Wadia (Gandhi) and would very much like to get back in
touch with her. The phone number I have for her is longer valid nor is she
on Facebook. I moved to the United States almost thirty years ago. I would
like to appeal to any individual who may have any information about how I
can contact Dr. Wadia to contact me at cyrustoorkey@gmail.com or ctoorkey@comcast.net. I hope someone,
somewhere can help me find my dear friend. Good Luck. God Bless.

Sir, With due respect, first of all, I would like to thank you for trying
to help others find their beloved ones! Although I am not a Parsi yet the
blood that runs in my veins belongs to a Parsi woman... My great grand
father whose name is Amir
Ul Mulk was the Mehtar of Chitral (Ruler).
Due to some political reason, he was arrested by the British Forces and
was taken to
Ooctacamund
in
India
where he was kept as a political prisoner. There in Ooctacamund, he
married a Parsi woman. Some say that the woman was a nurse... She gave
birth to four children, one boy and three girls. Later on, when my
great-grand father Amir Ul Mulk died there in 1924, the family was taken
to Chitral, again... The Parsi lady of my great grand father lived a few
months in Chitral ... She suddenly left Chitral and disappeared !!! I am
his 17 year old great-grand son...I would be very thankful to you if you
kindly trace her family out, thanks...Regards, Junaid

Well, I need your help again this time to find my neighbors in Mumbai. When I left Mumbai in 1976, I was living with my parents opp. Dadiseth Agyari and there was a Parsi bldg right across from us where a Parsi family used to reside. They were great friends with my parents and us kids. The family's names are: Darakaka Motafaram (father), Dhanben Motafaram (mother), Shirin Motafaram (daughter), and Firoz Motafaram (son). I used to go to their house often to play with Firoz since he was practically my age. I know that they moved from Dadiseth Agyari area in the mid 70's to a Parsi colony in Mumbai but I do not don't know which one. I heard that Shirin got married in the early 80's and moved to Canada but I do not know which part of Canada. I would love to get in touch with either Shirin or the remaining family members still in Mumbai and I am confident that with your assistance I will be able to locate them. case solved - the previous case was to look for my Gamadia school class
mates and I have been in touch with them ever since I found them! I
am so elated and over the moon! Vow, you have very good memory
Feroze! You remember all of us! Well, my father's name is
Jairajbhai and yes, we owned the building across the street from you guys
which my father sold in '80 and moved to Andheri West. We all still
talk about all the mischiefs Kishan used to get himself into and still
survive! Babu remembers you and Shirin quite frequently..... I
also have a younger brother (10 years younger than me), Hamir who was very
little when we lived across from you at Dadiseth Agyari lane. Myself,
Kishan and Babu live in Southern California, Panna lives in Houston, and
Hamir in New Jersey. I would love to hook up with you as would the
rest of my siblings I am sure. Both my parents lived in Bombay and
we visited them and vice versa until they passed away - my mom passed away
in '98 and dad in '2000. I remember your family moved from Dadiseth Agyari
to a Parsi colony in Bombay - it must have been around '75 or '76 but I
don't remember where you moved to. When did you move to
Wisconsin? I remember Shirin moving to Canada - are your parents
still living in Bombay? Please give Shirin and your parents my
regards. Is it alright if I share your contact information with my
siblings? It was really very nice to hear from you and I am so
grateful to Ader for his website and to your friend who forwarded the link

(Posted December 12, 2010) Dear Mr. Ader, Today I
just happened to meet a senior citizen named Mrs. Malti Vaidya , who is a
relative of a good friend of mine. Myself being a Parsi, she asked me if I
have heard of an old couple named Roshan & Bomi Khambatta having
daughters named Kashmira and Rashna who were their close neighbours in
Vadodara and subsequently shifted to Mumbai years back. Since then
they have lost touch. Other info she could remember was about Mrs. Roshan
Khambatta, that she was and RTO officer posted in Vadodara. Mrs
Malti Vaidya is very eager to contact the family, because she says the
couple has been very helpful in their difficult times and shall be happy
to get in touch with family and express her gratitude. I happened to come
across your website and hope it shall help me to connect the old
lady with the persons she is looking for and bring a smile on her face.

Hello Rashna, Thank you for responding, its
actually unbelievable that i have been successful in my attempt to locate
you and help Malti aunty. It has nearly been 2 months already, since
I posted this case on Ader's website , and finally this worked
out. Unfortunately aunty and her husband just left Mumbai a few days
before, to go to Kuwait and from there they will
be returning to London where they actually reside. A close friend of
mine ,who is their relative has Malti aunty's contact address, phone
number and email id. I am sure Malti aunty will also be really
happy, because when i had spoken to her , she had told me that it was
her earnest wish to talk to you . dsiodia@gmail.com Regards,
